The Association is now accepting applications for PAMI Education Scholarship Program (PESP) Batch 3, AY 2025-2026 from all qualified students (Male or Female) entering their 2nd-year academic studies and are officially enrolled in a recognized maritime program, either BSMT or BSMarE, from any PAMI regular member MHEIs in good standing. The PAMI Education Scholarship Program (PESP), funded by the Association’s 3rd Golf Cup, aims to provide opportunities for financially challenged yet deserving students (1 Male & 1 Female) wishing to join the seafaring profession.

APPLICATION FRAMEWORK
- PURPOSE
- The Philippine Association of Maritime Institutions (PAMI) aims to provide scholarship grants as its beneficiary to deserving students who are financially challenged but have the qualifications and determination to finish their studies.
2. COVERAGE
- Any qualified student (Male or Female) enrolled in a recognized maritime program either BSMT or BSMarE from any PAMI regular member MHEIs in good standing.
3. GENERAL GUIDELINES
- The scholarship program is open to Male and Female applicants, whether Deck or Engine.
- The scholarship program covers the tuition fee for the academic requirements only, depending on the MHEI schedule of tuition fees.
- Successful candidates shall only be entitled to one (1) scholarship grant. This scholarship cannot be used simultaneously with another.
- Only officially enrolled student may apply for a scholarship if he/she believe they meet the qualifications that are entering the second year of their academic studies.
- Only MHEIs that are PAMI regular members and in good standing can endorse candidates for the scholarship.
- The regular member MHEI shall recommend prospective scholars to the PAMI Board of Trustees (BOT) Selection Committee for the following semester, who shall be subjected to the selection committee’s qualification, evaluation, and deliberation process.
4. QUALIFICATIONS
- A 2nd-year maritime student enrolled in any of the PAMI regular member MHEIs.
- A candidate for a scholarship must have a grade point average (GPA) of 1.75 (or its equivalent) or higher in academic subjects with no grades lower than 2.0 (or its equivalent) in their first academic year.
- Other Pertinent Qualifications:
- In good moral standing in their respective community
- Without disciplinary cases
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Physically and mentally fit
- Active in extracurricular activities, particularly extension programs, research, etc.
5. DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS
- PAMI Member Institution’s Endorsement Letter
- Applicant’s Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Accomplished Scholarship Application Form (SAF)
- Applicant’s Self-Narrative Introduction (ASNI) – A personally handwritten essay explaining why the applicant deserves the scholarship (no fewer than 500 words)
- 3-Minute video recorded of self and family introduction
- Certified True Copy – Good academic records
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
- Certificate of Non-Sponsorship
- Basic PEME Medical Certificate and Medical Examination Report
- Record of experience in school, Extracurricular activities, and volunteerism
- Certified True Copy – Proof of enrollment to a member Maritime Higher Educational Institution (MHEI)
6. APPLICATION PROCESS
- Prospective beneficiary (Applicant Student)
- secure the Scholarship Application Form (SAF) from the Member-MHEI provided by PAMI
- write the Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Applicants’ Self-Narrative Introduction (ASNI) – make a personally written account of why they deserve the scholarship (no less than 500 words)
- create a 3-minute recorded video of self and family introduction
- submit to the MHEI’s respective Dean or person in charge
- Member-MHEI
- screen the applicants and their pertinent documents
