The Philippine Association of Maritime Institutions (PAMI) proudly invites maritime educators, industry leaders, partners, and stakeholders to the 51st PAMI Annual Convention, a premier gathering dedicated to advancing maritime education amid rapid technological, regulatory, and generational change. The convention will take place on 19-20 February 2026, 0800H-1700H at Park Inn Hotel, Bacolod City.

Anchored on the theme “Waves of Change: Navigating Maritime Education Across Generations,” this year’s convention provides a vital platform for dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning among educators, regulators, industry partners, and the next generation of maritime professionals. Together, we will examine how institutions and industry can align, adapt, and lead in shaping future-ready maritime education.

What to Expect

The convention is composed of two (2) main parts:

1. Plenary Session – featuring the international resource speaker on “Empowering Human Excellence: Soft Skills in the Age of Automation.” The session will emphasize the enduring importance of the human element amid rapid automation and digital transformation in the maritime industry. The speaker will highlight how maritime education must continue to develop not only technical competence but also the human capacities that enable seafarers to thrive in complex, high-pressure, and technology-driven environments. Key areas, among others, include:
   • The role of the human element in an increasingly automated world
   • Building resilience and mental strength among maritime learners and professionals
   • Developing essential soft skills needed by future seafarers to adapt, lead, and perform effectively
2. Business Meeting – Exclusive to all PAMI members, this session offers an opportunity to discuss industry trends, share updates from member institutions, review association initiatives, and collaboratively plan for the advancement of maritime education. It ensures that all members are informed, engaged, and have a voice in shaping the association’s direction.
